Nowadays many companies and organizations are abandoning the on-premise world (data centers) and transferring their systems to the cloud, often into a dynamic multicloud environment. To ensure problem-free IT system operation in a hybrid or multicloud environment is a challenge for every IT department. The scope, complexity, and speed of changes in the cloud world is exponentially greater than in the traditional, on-premise world.
The latest survey conducted by Dynatrace (2020 Global CIO Report: Observability, automation, and AI are essential to digital business success) identifies five of the greatest challenges that organizations face in the world of modern multicloud environments.
1. IT and digital teams are under greater pressure than ever before
If they wish to maintain productivity, meet customer requirements, and keep pace with the competition, they have to innovate more rapidly, collaborate more effectively, and provide greater benefit for business – all with the same or fewer resources.

2. Migration to the cloud brings increased complexity and intricacy to IT administration

3. Traditional tools and manual access no longer suffice

4. We need to radically change our approach
Statistical projections are insufficient; IT teams need exact answers with detailed descriptions of the current state of their multicloud environment. Entity mapping and threshold values must be updated on an automated and continual basis.

5. Observability, automation, and AI are the key

Monitoring (observability) with constant automation and artificial intelligence is no longer just a 'nice to have'. It’s a necessity.
