Tereza Achieve's Five Medals at Deaflympics

Czech athlete Tereza Kmochova is no stranger to challenge, hard work, and dedication.  The promising hearing-impaired junior skier is a member of Ski Club Harrachov / TJ Jiskra Harrachov, where she trains in all the alpine skiing FIS international disciplines -- slalom, giant slalom, Super G, and downhill.  Tereza currently ranks in 20th place among juniors, and in her age category she ranks 3rd and 1st in slalom.

Recently, Tereza competed in the 16th Winter Deaflympics, where she won five medals -- two gold, two silver, and one bronze.  This is an amazing accomplishment, and Adastra is proud to support Tereza by being her official sponsor, providing her with financial aid for her training and travel.

More than 600 athletes and officials participated in the 2007 16th Winter Deaflympics. The games are built on 80 years of tradition. Organized since 1924 by the Comité International des Sports des Sourds, CISS (The International Committee of Sports for the Deaf), the first Summer Deaflympics were held in Paris. Winter Deaflympics were added in 1949. The Summer and Winter Deaflympics are sanctioned by the International Olympic Committee, IOC.
